The Dick Munkres American Legion Post 287  was chartered on April 17, 1920 and has grown into a complete American Legion Family and its members are dedicated to the missions and ideals of the American Legion.

One of  the primary missions of the American Legion is to make sure that our veterans and their families receive the support and recognition they deserve.

Every member of our organization is a wartime veteran. We know how important it is to receive the support of our fellow citizens during and after our military service.

We are also dedicated to  a vast array of local community service projects, such as sponsoring students to attend Boys and Girls State, Junior Law Cadets, Scholarships, school supply donations just to name a few.
