Presentation of the Flag of the United States

"On behalf of the President of the United States and the United States (Army, Marine Corps, Navy, or Air Force) and a grateful Nation, please accept this flag as a symbol of our appreciation for your loved one's honorable and faithful service"

The purpose of the American Legion Honor Guard is to honor the faithful service and sacrifice of veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families.‚Äč

Thus far in 2015, the dedicated members of the Post 287 Honor Guard rendered military honors at over 35 funerals for veterans in northwest Missouri.

Our Post considers it an honor and a privilege to serve the families of deceased veterans, therefore, our team members aspire and adhere to the highest standards of American Legion Honor Guard protocols and professionalism.

We currently have 22 volunteer Post 287 members serving on our Funeral Honors Team which is comprised of Legionnaires, American Legion Riders, and Sons of The American Legion members.

Regardless of the weather conditions, the American Legion Post 287 Honor Guard will be there when called upon to serve.
